Anyhow , I ’m stoke . My little Chickasaw plum tree is well on its way to being a one - stop rock fruit destination . It ’s astonishing how well the new graft are doing . The best takes appear to be the “ party whip and knife ” grafts .
Next year I desire to add a few more variety show of plum to the mix . The only failure we had this yr were the sweet cerise scions . None of those took on the Chickasaw – and they also fail on my wild black cerise Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree . It was worth a shot , but that shot was a blank .
