Gardening in South Carolina signify beautiful flowers can arrive any day of the year , like this lovelyCamellia‘Nuccio ’s Cameo ’ ( Zone 7–10 ) which he photograph on January 1 . What a way to phone in a new twelvemonth !
The beautifulGladiolus‘Halloweenie’—named for its habit of blossom very late in the year . This is a sort of the speciesGladiolusdalenii , aboriginal to Africa , and is one of the main parent plants of advanced loanblend gladiolus . It is hardy than most modern gladiolus ( Zones 7–10 ) and has a more wild , intimate expression to the bloom ear .

These morning glories ( Ipomoeatricolor , annual ) are living up to their name . Who cares that the bloom of youth will fade by the good afternoon when they are so beautiful in the morning ?
It ’s the pinnacle of summertime inflorescence in Eric ’s home garden . Rudbeckiamaxima(Zones 4–9 ) is the improbable yellow flower in the back , and in the foreground are the immense pink blooms ofCrinum‘Ellen Bosanquet ’ ( Zones 8–10 ) .

A glad view for any gardener : a cart full of flora ( in this case , a variety of unlike selection of the genusSalvia)ready to get planted .
Ericpropagatedthis specially cute camelia works from a favorite shrub at his grannie ’s house . He took cuttings before the mansion was sold , and now it and three others have settle and are develop and blooming . He ’s not sure of the variety name , so if anyone knows , please pass it on !
Salvialeucantha(Zones 7–10 ) flower late in the season , post off the horticulture year with a bang and providing lots of nectar for the last migratinghummingbirds .
