Beauty in British Columbia

Today we ’ve got photo from regular GPOD contributor Cherry Ong in Richmond , British Columbia , Canada . ( See a couple of her old postshereandhere , or follow her onInstagram . )

I have n’t commit any garden photos for a while . . . . I realized that I ’ve been garden for about 12 days now and thankful to the folks atFine Gardeningfor nurturing the passion .

My garden has been age , and I ’ve coped and get wind to breastfeed , mend , and replace its growing parts . Sometimes it ’s sad when you fall behind to the component andpests , and sometimes it ’s viewed as an opportunity to try a Modern plant . Although all of you bonk that it ’s otiose not to succumb to new plants !

So here are some snapshots of my former spring , other summer garden .

This and the next few shot are from the front yard .

The tractor disc plantation owner is a very generous gift from a gardening friend that we hauled in our lease all the way from California last December . I have so many mass to thank for this amazing opus !

I ’m so into fuchsias this class , as you could see fuchsia versicolor(Fuchsiamangellanica‘Versicolor ’ Zones 7–10)tucked into the container in this photo .

TheKalmia latifolia(mountain laurel wreath , Zones 4–9 ) blooms are glorious this yr . It seems to bloom copiously every other year . I ’ve been warned by gardening Friend locally that the plant is shortly - experience here on the West Coast , so I ’m revel it as much as I can .

This and the remainder of the photos are from my backyard . I ’ve had to replace several patch in my backyard in the last two to three years as some perennial and bush have bitten the dust .

The dark leaf of a Japanese maple(Acerpalmatum , Zones 5–9 ) contrast with the yellow - green Japanese forest grass(Hakonechloamacra‘All Gold ’ , Zones 5–9 ) .

I continue to grow a good deal ofcontainer gardens . Sempervivum(hens and skirt , Zones 3–9 ) are an increasing fave .
