Design basics, Sharing Nature’s Garden on tour

Last week a duet of gardeners commented that their crinums had never blossom . Take heart and soul !   These guys can be as slow as sight laurels and Mexican plums . In fact , it was so long before this crinum bloomed that I ’d bury what it was .

In 2002 , I beat it atZilker Garden Festival(March 27 & 28 this class ) with a lot of other little - sized bulbs . I sleep with the leafage , but never saw a bloom until last summertime . But once they ’re established , you may count on flowers every class . It ’s worth the wait ! These are plant for the long - condition .

This workweek , Daphne has encouraging words for the Red Bird of Paradise ( Caesalpinia pulcherrima ) that may not look too great right now . She propose to ensure you get this species , since it is intrepid to the teens .

And , even when it does n’t freeze back , she recommends cutting it down every year to encourage lush foliage and more flowers . Since I got a sneak preview , I jog mine last weekend .

Also , I did some refreshing clean up , made plant list , and roll around looking at everything . I came up with a few ideas , but I for certain wish I could just start over !

I be intimate lots of gardeners feel the same way at times . So , this calendar week on CTG , fashion designer Ginger Hudsonjoins Tom to facilitate wrangle our position with afew conceptsand a overbold eye .   She illustrate some coarse issues and how to approach them .

On tour , see how Diana Kirby ofSharing Nature ’s Gardentook a shovel to the thou that came with her mansion to give it her garden style .

I love her blog that place us shoulder to shoulder with her as she harness new challenges , from ornamental to vegetables , and front yard deer .

How could I resist a chance to share her philosophy with CTG ? Along with her fervent love of plant , Diana want to create a place of refreshment , fun , and discovery for her folk and friend , which includes the wildlife she desire to ask for over , too .

Since it ’s not too late to start Lycopersicon esculentum from seed ( though get on it soon ) , John Dromgoole shows us how . For those transplants you ’re aching to works , just be quick with rowcover or charge plate , like this . A freeze can damage them for good , and later on , you ’ll wonder why they ’re not producing . check out out ourEvents calendarfor Sunshine Community Garden ’s mythical veggie & flower sale on March 6 and the Master Gardeners ’ loose veg gardening shop on March 13 .

Until next week , Linda
