The SlimskidCargolite ’s latest invention is the Slimskid which functions as a regular slip , however without the " tortuous and overweight " wooden skid . The goal of this product is to increase the flower capacity on the air pallet by using the blank space that ordinarily remains idle when using a skid . Kowarsky explains the idea behind this product : " Usually , you put box on a wooden or pliant pallet . That palette turn on the logistic chain to load and offload it with a forklift . However , the pallet is heavy and has a 13 - 14 cm height , so unused and expensive place . What we often saw , specially in Colombia and Ecuador , but also in Kenya , is that logistic forwarders put the boxes directly on the gentle wind palette . In this way , they preserve 13 - 14 centimeter space and put on excess capacity in turn . However , the boxwood are not stacked properly , they are place now on the floor ( which may be sloshed ) , and it need a lot of manual handling when lade and offloading . This obtain damage to the flowers due to bumpy treatment at the airports . "

" In Kenya we always encourage ramp up the Cargolite conception on pallets at the farm because they can be read as a whole at the drome . However , when using the Slimskid , they can now easily add extra flower capacity . The only change they require to do is laying the wooden card on top of the pallet . Then , when charge the boxes onto the aviation pallet , the Slimskid enables them to pick the boxes with the strap with a forklift and place it on the air pallet , leaving the skid behind . At the destination , another forklift can well pick up the boxes , which reduces expensive manual Labour . "
