“ I ’ve been Head Gardener here at Abbeywood since 2009 , ” shares Simon .

The Tropical Garden

“ The tropical alien garden is planted out anywhere from the eye of May to the death of May , depend on the atmospheric condition , ” Simon explains .

“ I go a lot from seed 15 year ago . I always try and get some interesting plants in there .

“ Even though some of the plants are not exotic , when they are put in combination with others , it gives an exotic feel .

“ In here isEucalyptus , which I have to pollard , otherwise it gets too big .

“ We implant someBromeliads in the palm trunksjust for the summertime . Some of them have work , some obviously do n’t like direct Lord’s Day because they burn , but it ’s interesting to see how they work .

“ We’vealso get some Bird of Paradise , which are just go over now , and footling florist shop ’s pineapples , which are an sum incentive for this year . ”

Exploring The Wider Estate

“ The Pool Garden originally have a formal parquet circle made up of corner , which we had to get rid of six years ago when the box blight place in , ” says Simon .
