A handsome basil for the annual border

Here ’s another nerveless plant at theUniversity of Tennessee Research Centerin Jackson . It ’s a basil with highly ruffled , crinkled parting ( Ocimum basilicum‘Green Ruffles ’ , one-year ) . Compared to the stock basil you ’ll find in 6 - pack in the garden center , it ’s highly ornamental ( though the pesto voltage of a sales booth of even basil makes it exceptionally beautiful to me . Come to think of it , regular basil is gorgeous , too . Oh , you have it away what I mean . ) Burpee ’s begin germ . Go get ’em !
