The Kurume intercrossed azaleas of Japan owe their blood to several species of mountain azalea , preponderantly R. sataense with R. kiusianum . Formerly , the Kurume cross were grouped under R. obtusum , but mod horticulturists now regard R. obtusum a loanblend and not a freestanding coinage .
